Office take up in quarter two, 2018 in the central Birmingham office market totalled 169,929 sq ft in 31 deals, according to figures compiled by the Birmingham Office Market Forum.
When added to the 22 deals totalling 148,483 sq ft recorded in quarter one, the half year to date totals 318,412 sq ft in 53 deals.
This represents a steady first half of the year, although up on the take up recorded in the same period of 2017 (248,466 sq ft) which turned out to be a record year.
Given the transactions known to be currently progressing through legals together with a number of proposals advancing to decision making stages, the BOMF members remain optimistic that the outlook for 2018 shall again see a stronger second half of the year in the Birmingham office leasing market.
