Sanderson Leisure and Retail (SLR) has announced it has signed The Cosmetic Company Store, part of the Estee Lauder Companies, for Springfields Outlet in Lincolnshire, the leading shopping and leisure destination in the East of England.
The Cosmetic Company Store, an award-winning premium skincare, make-up and fragrance retailer, offers high-end beauty brands at discounted prices, bringing together products from The Estee Lauder Companies prestigious brands, including Estee Lauder, Clinique and MAC. The retailer is set to open a 1,860 sq ft unit at the 200,000 sq ft Springfields Outlet.
Heather Reilly Director at The Cosmetic Company Store, said: “Springfields Outlet is set within a highly attractive setting and provides visitors with an enjoyable environment which will complement our brand, values and customer experience.”
Springfields Outlet has recently invested £1.2 million into the expansion of its innovative leisure offer, Springfields Adventure Land, which opens in early Summer. The leisure expansion at the centre will provide an extensive range of family-friendly attractions to complement the mixed-use destination’s strong retail offer, including the UK’s largest JCB Young Drivers’ Zone.
The new leisure facilities have been designed to increase footfall by appealing to a broader customer base looking for a memorable day-out, providing more reasons for visitors to travel from further, stay for longer and visit more often. Springfields Outlet anticipates that the expanded leisure offer will attract more than 100,000 new visitors to the destination per year.
The provision of the new leisure facilities will play a key role in defining Springfields Outlet as a destination. FSP research shows that the inclusion of a leisure offer is becoming increasingly important in driving footfall to a scheme. The combination of facilities, leisure, f&b and retail is a crucial aspect in creating the complete package which appeals to a variety of customer groups and emphasises the experiential nature of the destination.
Ian Sanderson, Director of SLR, who developed the scheme, and who are market leaders in the leisure-based outlet market, said: “We are thrilled that The Cosmetic Company Store has chosen to open at Springfields Outlet. The retailer will boost the centre’s beauty and cosmetics offer and the brands that it will bring to Springfields Outlet represent the calibre of the aspirational brands we are increasingly attracting. It is encouraging to see retailers acknowledging the benefit that the expanded leisure facilities, combined with the strong retail offer, will deliver. The mix is key to continuing to drive footfall and will help to deliver the complete day-out package and an innovative experience for customers.”
Springfields Outlet is home to a number of top fashion and accessories retailers. Well-known brands include Radley, Betty Barclay, Fat Face, Next, Gap, M&S, TM Lewin and Skechers, with further premium names being introduced over the coming months.
Located in south Lincolnshire, the scheme is easily accessible, and sits close to the junction of the A16 and A17, near three major arterial roads providing easy access to Peterborough, Stamford, Nottingham, Lincoln and Kings Lynn. The catchment of 1.24 million is expected to increase by a faster rate than the UK average, up +8.1 per cent to 2025, compared to +6.5 per cent nationally.
Since launch, Springfields Outlet has an average occupancy rate above 98 per cent and has achieved 13 years of consecutive turnover growth since opening in 2004. The scheme includes 54 outlet stores, nine restaurants, a 58,000 sq ft garden centre and a 43-bedroom hotel.
