Self-confessed troubleshooter Diana Van Aperen, a member of the Residential Service Charge Management team at agents CPBigwood in Birmingham, has been made an associate member of the RICS.
She is the third member of staff at the firm to gain the AssocRICS qualification after colleagues Karen Combellack and Andrew Winstanley.
She said: “The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is the leading body in property. AssocRICS means residents and others can have confidence in the level of my experience, knowledge and professionalism.”
Ms Van Aperen specialises in managing new build property across the wider Midlands.
She said: “I enjoy the challenge of ensuring developments are kept up to a high standard working with leaseholders and resolving issues face to face.
“I enjoy turning tired developments around and planning works each year to upgrade the general appearance. I work closely with our contractors and ensure that during my regular site inspections all areas are inspected and any requested received from residents are acted upon.
“I feel very proud of my achievements including the general appearance of sites which are kept to a high standard at all times. I enjoy travelling around the various areas which I cover such as Nottingham., Chesterfield, Derby, Stoke on Trent, Peterborough and Leicester and meeting new people.
Ms Van Aperen has been five years with CPBigwood and pre-merger entity Curry & Partners.
Her experience includes spells with Solitaire in Leicester (freeholder) and Pennycuik Collins in Birmingham, and her career first started with Freshwater Group of Companies in Nottingham where she began her training and moved to Birmingham to manage their portfolio.
