Swindon’s anticipated North Star Village development has secured pre-let agreements for 50 per cent of the development, ahead of full planning approval.
Leading developer SevenCapital, which is behind the £270 million scheme, has confirmed that it has exchanged contracts for circa 250,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space.
Confirmed tenants, pending full permission being granted for the site’s plans, include: Hollywood Bowl (27,000 sq ft), top mountain sports retailer Ellis Brigham (9,000 sq ft), a 180,000 sq ft Snowcentre and Empire Cinemas, which will bring 13 cinema screens and the largest IMAX screen in Europe to Swindon.
John Watkins, director at SevenCapital said: “We’re really pleased to be able to confirm such high-profile tenants for the North Star Village whilst we’re still in approval stages. This pays testament to the appetite for this fantastic scheme and our vision for it – to create a first-class regional leisure destination that will cement Swindon firmly on the map.”
Outline planning for the North Star Village was granted in January, with the detailed planning application currently awaiting approval.
