The Cardiff Capital Region Cabinet (CCR) has welcomed the announcement this week by Economy Secretary Ken Skates AM that a £100million train depot is to be developed at Taffs Well as part of plans for the South Wales Metro.
Speaking about the investment, Councillor Andrew Morgan, Chair of the CCR Cabinet, and Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, said: “The CCR Cabinet is pleased that Transport for Wales has moved so quickly to begin the process of making the South Wales Metro a reality.
“This news is not only a significant investment for the area, but it will create great opportunities for Welsh businesses through the supply chain, and providing improved prospects for employment in the region.
“We look forward to seeing how the new investment complements existing South Wales depots and additional stabling facilities.”
