Arup’s Liverpool office has announced it has signed up to a new 10,500 sq ft office in The Plaza, located in the heart of Liverpool’s Commercial District. The move will mark another important milestone in Arup’s 18-year presence in the City.
The global engineering and design consultancy will move from the 12th floor to the 10th floor of the Bruntwood building, almost doubling the size of its floor area. Since moving into The Plaza 10 years ago the Liverpool office has doubled in size and the move to the 10th floor will enable further growth to over 100 staff. This letting marks one of the largest office deals in the city centre this year.
National fit out and refurbishment specialist, Overbury has been appointed to deliver a new modern working environment centred around activity-based working. The space has been designed to include both collaborative spaces and break out areas to encourage creative thinking.
Speaking about the move, Garry Banks, office leader at Arup, commented: “This expansion is significant as it means we can continue to grow and make the most of new opportunities in such a dynamic and fast-growing region. We will continue to develop our existing teams and have plans to introduce new service offerings including rail, transport, maritime and nuclear. This will build on strategic commissions already secured with both public and private sector clients across the City Region.
“Working with Overbury we believe we have created an, inspiring space which will delight both our people and our clients.”
Philip Westwood, director at Overbury, continued: “We have a long-standing relationship with Arup and subsequently a solid understanding of their brand, culture and way of working. The new office will significantly change the way in which the company operates and will create a space in which Arup can be proud to welcome visitors.”
