Trebor Developments/Kay Properties joint venture have handed over Airfield 55 development to Accord Housing Association for their new manufacturing facility in Aldridge, Walsall.
Accord Housing Association have taken occupation of the new 55,000 sq ft industrial building for their offsite house manufacturing business LoCal Homes. Trebor/Kay developed the building on a speculative basis with grant funding from the Black Country LEP.
The building was completed on time on the 1st June, with early access to the production space made available from April this year. The premises are contracted on a leasehold basis.
Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner of Trebor Developments, on behalf of the Trebor/Kay JV, commented, “We welcome Accord Housing Association to their new manufacturing facility and hope they will be successful as it meets their future expansion needs.” The building will be retained by Kay Properties, as Landlord, as a long term investment.
Dr Chris Handy, Accord’s Chief Executive commented, “We are thrilled to be taking occupation of this incredible new space which will enable our LoCal Homes offsite manufacturing team to manufacture more than 1,000 new homes a year.”
Councillor Andrew, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Regeneration said: “As one of the people who originally secured the Accord Manufacturing facility for the Borough I am delighted that Accord have honoured their agreement to locate their expanded manufacturing facility in our Borough. I am pleased that the business is going from strength to strength is now able to expand, in partnership with Trebor Developments and Kay Properties, and create further job opportunities for our residents. The Council has worked closely with Accord LoCal homes over the previous 7 years at their current base in Beechdale and their decision to open the Aldridge factory is a boost for our Borough.”
