Following a decision by Wyndeham Group to consolidate its printing businesses, the former Wyndeham Plymouth site on Langage Industrial Estate is to close.
The facility had previously served St Ives Plymouth well for 25 years and as one chapter closes another opens, presenting the South West industrial market with a rare opportunity to acquire a major manufacturing/distribution complex.
The factory extends to a total of 13,268.19 SQ M (142,819 SQ FT) approx. and is set in grounds of 4.47 hectares (11.05 acres), with generous car parking provisions, linked Headquarters office building, additional outside storage buildings and water storage tanks for sprinkler systems.
South West Property Specialists, Vickery Holman, acting jointly with London Consultants Cunningham Moss Associates, are marketing the property on behalf of the freeholder, St Ives plc, as ‘freehold with vacant possession’ basis although St Ives plc will consider leasehold proposals of part or whole – subject to terms.
Vickery Holman’s Director, Mike Oldrieve, comments “As industry and commerce has developed in Plymouth over the years there have been a number of large complexes come to the market, some finding new occupiers others having been redeveloped and refurbished by new landlords making the premises more suitable to the modern market.”
“In the case of the ex Wyndeham/St Ives factory it is still very relevant to today’s market with large span manufacturing, 2 storey design and office complex and welfare facilities all set within a landscaped setting making the ideal home for one of Plymouth’s many expanding industrialists.”
Vickery Holman are also targeting industrial markets further afield including regional and national companies, the property being suitable for inward investment.
Mike Oldrieve comments, “The cost of a facility like this today is extremely high and with little competition in the market we are expecting the next chapter of this impressive industrial complex to be on the bookshelf very soon.”
