Savills, on behalf of the RNIB, has sold the freehold of the charity’s former substantial office and warehouse facility on Bakewell Road, Peterborough to Cambridge Realty Limited.
Set across 9.5 acres (3.85 hectares), the property totals 109,778 sq ft (10,197 sq m) including two storey offices totalling 68,000 sq ft (6,317 sq m), 40,000 sq ft (3,716 sq m) across two warehouses and 2.18 acres (0.8 Ha) of development land. The RNIB is set to stay in one of the warehouses and Action On Hearing Loss already occupies part of the office space.
Savills has been retained to market the vacant space on a leasehold basis, jointly with Richardson’s Surveyors. The office space is available to let in its entirety or alternatively can be split into individual suites from 5,000 sq ft (464 sq m) to suit a range of occupier requirements. 19,031 sq ft (1,768 sq m) of warehouse is also available.
Edward Gee, associate director in the business space team at Savills Peterborough who handled the sale, comments: “Situated in the prime commercial location of Orton Southgate, the former RNIB site provided an excellent opportunity to purchase a mixed-use scheme with significant investment and development potential. Retained as letting agents, we are now marketing the site, which will appeal to a variety of businesses across both the office and industrial sectors. For this reason we expect to receive considerable interest from potential occupies looking for good quality, sizeable space.”
