A leading global courier delivery services provider has renewed its lease until 2030 and expanded the space it currently occupies at SEGRO’s Stansted Cargo Centre.
SEGRO has acquired the land adjacent to the existing customer’s 250,000 sq ft facility and will deliver a 20,000 sq ft extension to the unit, which is due to complete in November 2018.
The unit will include the addition of a covered handling yard and additional staff car parking.
SEGRO’s Stansted Cargo Centre is the only airside transit facility at Stansted Airport and is fully let to customers including Royal Mail, UPS and TNT.
Located in close proximity to the M11, Stansted Cargo Centre enables the transportation of parcels arriving in the UK from across the world to London, the South of England and Midlands. Over 250,000 tonnes of cargo traffic travels through Stansted Airport per year making it the third largest cargo handling airport in the UK.
Alan Holland, Business Unit Director for Greater London, SEGRO said:
“We’re delighted to not only extend the lease of an existing customer, but also to be able to deliver more space to enable them to meet their business demands.
“Demand for strategically located cargo facilities continues to grow, and as a result, our entire portfolio across Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow, is now at full occupancy. We are pleased to be able to grow with an existing, long standing customer and enable them to serve the needs of their customers from Stansted Cargo Centre.”
SEGRO is a main occupier of land in close proximity to Europe’s major airports, including Heathrow, East Midlands, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Madrid.
