Fit-out specialist AMH Workspace has completed a £500,000 office refurbishment in Durham on behalf of law firm, Swinburne Maddison.
The five-month project has seen the complete transformation of the law firm’s 10,000sqft office at Aykley Heads Business Park, which they acquired in 2017.
AMH worked closely with Swinburne Maddison to deliver a bespoke, modern working environment, which includes a new workspace café, high end meeting rooms and client lounge area, as well as new office furniture solutions and upgraded IT functionality.
Heather Baxter, business development manager at AMH said: “Corporate occupiers are placing greater emphasis on ensuring that their office space is aligned with their brand and company values, as well as the comfort and well-being of employees. This is very much reflected in the Swinburne Maddison project, with their new offices complementing their growth strategy and the high-quality service they deliver to clients.”
Washington-based AMH Workspace carried out the refurbishment in a live working environment, with a phased programme of works enabling the law firm to remain fully operational throughout.
The partners of Swinburne Maddison believe the significant investment has already had a positive impact across the whole firm.
David Low, partner at Swinburne Maddison said: “AMH Workspace have helped us to transform our working environment and we have already seen the effect on staff productivity and received lots of fantastic client feedback.
“We now have a vibrant open plan office space, staff and client lounge area, serviced meeting rooms and superb new reception area. AMH invested a lot of time and energy in understanding our goals and providing us with fantastic advice and creative solutions. Our new offices provide us with an excellent platform to help us retain and recruit high quality staff to grow the business.”
The Swinburne Maddison project follows AMH’s fit-out of Hedgehog Lab’s offices at Generator Studios in Newcastle, as well as completing the move for environmental consultancy TNEI from Milburn House to West One, AMH’s 4th project in this building.
The surge in new projects has led to the recruitment of several new members of staff at AMH including interior designer Kate McNay, contracts manager Robbie Holmes and furniture installer Barry Lane.
Ian Moir, managing director of AMH added: “Over the last 18 months we have experienced a significant increase in office fit-out projects. This has led to job creation and we are delighted to have our own in-house interior designer who can help clients visualise projects, as well as a valuable addition to our site installation teams. Our ability to see a project right through from visualisation to installation puts us in a strong position for future growth”.
