Trebor Developments LLP/Hortons’ Estate Limited’s proposals to bring forward a major retail park development at Princess Alice Drive, Sutton Coldfield received detailed planning consent on the 17 May 2012. Work will commence on the development following vacant possession of the site, in September 2012.
The £7million retail scheme obtained planning consent for 23,750 sq ft (2,206m²) of retail development and will house high quality retail units with the first secured occupier for the scheme to be announced shortly.
Trebor/Hortons acquired the site from Action for Children and the granting of detailed consent represents a significant milestone in the progression of the scheme which will provide additional variety to the current high quality retail offering at this well established retail park.
Initial works on site will consist of site clearance and associated site preparation, which are programmed to commence in September 2012. It is anticipated that the overall development will be completed and open for trade in Autumn 2013.
The scheme is Trebor/Hortons second retail development in Birmingham in the last 12 months, having successfully completed a retail project at Hagley Road last year.
Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner for Trebor Developments, commented: “We are delighted to have received detailed planning consent and thank our consultants and all those involved for the hard work in supporting us in bringing forward this excellent new development on such a busy and well know Retail Park. We look forward to announcing, shortly, the first occupiers who have signed up for the scheme and in due course that work has started on site to deliver the scheme.”
