Barnack Estates UK Ltd has commenced construction on an 18 acre site at the second phase of Eagle Business Park in Yaxley. Since the launch of the new phase at the end of 2017, strong interest has been registered in the property opportunities with 5 plots under offer, confirms Barker Storey Matthews who is the sole agent under instruction.
Rob Facer, Chairman, Barnack Estates UK Ltd, commented, “We are delighted to be in a position to start work on site, to help meet the employment and industrial growth in the area. The support from both Huntingdonshire District Council and Peterborough City Council in granting planning permission has been helpful and vital.”
Eagle Business Park, which fronts on to Broadway, Yaxley was established in 2010 and the first phases were soon successfully developed by Barnack Estates UK Ltd to occupy its original 25.7 acre site. This second phase sees a further 18.38 acres of commercial development by Barnack Estates UK Ltd.
Given its location – with good road access to Peterborough’s Parkway road system and the A1(M) Norman Cross junction, Eagle Business Park has always seen a good mix of trade counter, light industrial, showroom and food sector tenant occupiers and freehold owners. The second phase is attracting interest from operators in similar sectors.
Individual planning applications are being submitted for over five acres of design and build units on the second phase with new speculative development schemes offering units to let or to purchase.
Unit sizes range from 2,500 sq ft to 21,660 sq ft, with some units designed to have their own self-contained yards.
Current construction work on Phase 2 of Eagle Business Park sees Barnack Estates UK Ltd creating the new roadway. The completion of the new site’s infrastructure will coincide with the completion of units available for occupation early 2019.
Richard Jones, Director, Barker Storey Matthews, commented, “The attractiveness of the first phase of Eagle Business Park has initiated a strong level of enquiries for this new phase.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the first of the phase two buildings rising up this summer.
“With availability of vacant industrial space in Peterborough at only 280,000 sq ft – an all time low for the city – the prospect of Eagle Park’s second phase is much anticipated.”
