Acting on behalf of St Gobain, SHW have let the former Graham building in Beeching Road, Bexhill to Skinners Sheds. Totalling approximately 26,000 sq ft on a site of approximately two acres, the building was formerly occupied by Graham who have relocated to other premises on the same street.
The property which was marketed on both a long leasehold basis as well as a shorter occupational lease attracted strong interest from both potential purchasers of the long lease as well as from companies just looking to lease the building and yard.
SHW’s David Martin commented: “Buildings of this size with a yard are rarely available which was borne out by the number of enquiries that were received for the property. These were from a wide range of different uses attracted principally by the extensive yard area and in some cases from companies looking at a redevelopment of the property. This resulted in a number of offers being received for the property which was eventually let to Skinners Sheds.”
Jason Roberts of SHW Eastbourne office said: “The marketing of this building highlighted the large number of occupiers in the Bexhill and Hastings area with requirements for warehouse and industrial buildings in excess of 20,000 sq ft with limited options for them in terms of available stock. The former Graham building could have potentially been let several times over. We are currently looking for other properties in the area that could accommodate these disappointed parties in the 10,000 – 30,000 sq ft range.”
