Jack Wills is opening a new store at intu Watford’s 400,000 sq ft extension.
Owner intu has signed up the aspirational fashion retailer for a 5,000 sq ft store within its £180 million expansion of the shopping centre.
The development will create a 1.4 million sq ft retail and leisure destination at the heart of Watford that has been predicted by the CACI to elevate the Hertfordshire town to a top 20 retail destination alongside Edinburgh and Bristol, attracting visitors from across London and neighbouring home counties.
13 more stores, including a 113,000 sq ft Debenhams and a 6,630 sq ft Superdry, will join Jack Wills when work completes in October this year. There will also be a 9-screen IMAX cinema, Hollywood Bowl and 11 new restaurants.
Rebecca Ryman, regional managing director at intu, said: “Jack Wills is a perfect addition to our retail mix, providing yet another frequently requested store for our wide and affluent catchment base.
“The expansion of intu Watford is enabling us to create even more premium space for high quality retail, restaurant and leisure brands within a destination where they can really flourish.”
Neil Beaman, property director at Jack Wills, said: “intu Watford’s extension is going to be a key opening for us this year. It is a fantastic site at the heart of a growing town with access to a large proportion of our target customers.”
