Works have started on a major five-storey extension and refurbishment of Nelsons Solicitors’ Nottingham office – with the law firm investing heavily in its city centre premises.
The firm’s office, in Pennine House, 8 Stanford Street, will be transformed into an airy and spacious open plan setting while an extension – with more meeting rooms for clients and open plan office space – will be constructed.
Chairman Tim Hastings said: “We came to 8 Stanford Street in 1990 when the building last had a major refurbishment – and in 1994 we expanded next door into no. 6 as well.
“This latest upgrade, along with our investment in IT and modern working practices, will mean that our clients and staff will enjoy greatly improved facilities and we will be able to occupy just one building once the work is completed.
“The ground and first floors of the new brick-built extension will be used for meetings, while staff will use the second, third, fourth and fifth floors as improved open plan office space.
“The refurbishment is part of our ongoing growth strategy in Nottingham and it demonstrates our commitment to and investment in the city.
“We strive to provide the very best working environment possible for our employees and pride ourselves on attracting the best lawyers in the region to work for us.
“It will be business as usual while the works take place – we will be continuing to provide a full range of legal services for businesses and individuals while construction and the refurbishment go ahead.
“We look forward to welcoming our clients and staff to our new and improved offices once the refurbishment is complete.”
Staff will move into 6 Stanford Street and the existing reception will remain open while the works, expected to be completed in October, are carried out.
