A deal to let 21,000 sq ft of industrial office space in Nottinghamshire has been brokered by property consultancy Innes England.
MLB Joinery has moved into a new unit at Trowell Park Industries which has been extensively refurbished to accommodate the organisation’s operations requirements and improve facilities for staff.
The move has allowed the 11-year-old family-run business to consolidate its operations, bringing together its 30-strong team which previously worked from two city-centre factories in Wallett Street and Lady Bay.
Luke Burrows, managing director for MLB Joinery, said the space at Trowell was ideal to meet the growing needs of the business.
“We operate across the UK and Europe delivering specialist shop fitting and bespoke joinery services. Because we have the capability to design and manufacture everything on site, we need the space to accommodate specialist machinery, our in-house spray shop and office space for our designers and operations teams,” explained Luke.
“Our new location close to the M1 ticks all the boxes as it’s easily accessible for our customers, staff and suppliers. Because of the increase in space we’ve been able to invest in more machinery and we’ll be growing our team to meet demands from clients. Every year we take on one apprentice, but now we’ll be in a position to welcome two every year.
“Before signing this deal we had looked at several other units with different agents, but we couldn’t find anything which was suitable until we spoke to Innes England. Now we’re in a position to deliver bigger projects to clients much quicker than before. I’m really looking forward to the next stage of MLB’s growth.”
Michael Burrows, founder and co-director, added: “This move will allow us to expand our offering further. We are looking to work with more businesses in the commercial sector who need support with office fit outs, in addition to our existing clients in retail, hospitality and leisure.
Associate director Scott Osborne, from Innes England, said: “MLB Joinery now occupies the last remaining unit on the park. The business estate is fully occupied by a variety of long-term tenants, which is great news for the region’s economy.
“MLB Joinery is an ideal tenant for this space and we brokered a long-term deal just weeks after the unit came onto market. I’m pleased we were able to agree terms swiftly so the company could ensure a smooth transition from its former premises. I hope MLB Joinery enjoys its tenure at the premises and wish the business all the best for the future.”
