W Lamb Ltd has sold the freehold of Unit 1 at Aesop Business Park in Aston Clinton, Aylesbury to Mercedes-Benz Retail Group UK Ltd.
Comprising 40,225 sq ft (3,737 sq m) of industrial space, the car retailer will occupy the recently completed facility using it to prepare approved used cars for resale at their retail sites throughout London.
This is the first unit on the Aston41 scheme, which is being developed in three phases. The second phase, on the front of the site, is under offer to Lookers for a car dealership, subject to planning consent. The final phase will comprise a range of unit sizes from 13,896 sq ft (1,290 sq m) to 142,775 sq ft (13,264 sq m). Currently in for planning, the scheme is set to be completed by Q1 2019.
Matt Sutton of Westhall Estates, the development manager, comments: “The unit offered Mercedes-Benz Retail Group a rare opportunity to purchase freehold industrial space in an easily accessible location with excellent links to the A41 and M25. It is testament to the strength of the scheme that it continues to attract global occupiers and for this reason we expect to receive considerable interest in the freehold speculative units that make up the next phase of Aston41.”
