History has repeated itself at a vacant Kidderminster industrial unit as a new tenant moves in.
Steel stockholders and processors Milden Steels Ltd has signed a 10-year lease for a 41,500 sq ft premises on the popular Hoo Farm Industrial Estate in Arthur Drive, Kidderminster.
The unit, which was originally built in 1990 for a steel stockholder, comprises a two-bay steel framed and clad warehouse/factory with a concrete floor.
Milden Steels Ltd, which supplies products to a wide range of industries including automotive and domestic goods, has consolidated two sites – one elsewhere in Kidderminster and the another in Wolverhampton – to accommodate its 25-strong workforce under one roof.
Dean Jones, director at Milden Steels Ltd, said: “We’ve been based in Kidderminster for the past 10 years and, after taking over another steel processing site in Wolverhampton five years ago, we have been looking for the right site to bring all of our employees and operations together.
“With this large premises we can now have a better flow of production – offloading steel direct from the mills at one end of the unit, then it being processed and dispatched at the other. This will provide a smoother process overall compared to our current way of working from two sites.
“As most of our employees are from Kidderminster and its surrounding towns, we needed a premises in the area. This unit also provides plenty of space for us to grow the business and expand our team in the future.”
Richard Tomlinson, partner at Halls Commercial, said: “Hoo Farm Industrial Estate is a very popular location, housing up to 70 businesses. It is an ideal manufacturing and distribution hub, benefitting from close proximity to the M5 and the M42, and so providing easy access to the rest of the UK. This unit is a high quality, good-sized base, combining warehouse and office space – making it perfect for Milden Steels Ltd.”
Halls Commercial provides specialist commercial property services to a wide range of clients throughout the Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and wider Midlands region.
