A new Brazilian rodizio bar and grill is set to open in Birmingham city centre.
City District, the restaurant group behind Fazenda, has agreed a 20-year lease on 9,000 sq ft on the lower ground floor of 55 Colmore Row from landlord TH Real Estate.
City District has chosen Birmingham as the location for its fifth Fazenda restaurant, which offers an “authentic Gaucho experience”, adding to sites in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Fazenda will be located on Barwick Street, just off Church Street, in the city’s Colmore Business District, which is fast becoming a haven for restaurant and bar operators. In 2017, high-end Argentinian steak house Gaucho opened its first restaurant in Birmingham at 55 Colmore Row.
A planning and licensing application has been submitted to Birmingham City Council by City District.
55 Colmore Row is one of Birmingham’s most prestigious office buildings, providing 157,562 sq ft of prime Grade A accommodation over seven floors, of which 55,000 sq ft is currently available to let. Tenants include Pinsent Masons, RICS and Savills.
The letting to Fazenda completes the retail and leisure offering in the building.
Luke Duckworth, assistant portfolio manager at TH Real Estate, which acquired 55 Colmore Row on behalf of its European Cities Fund from IM Properties earlier this year, said: “Following on from the recent 30,000 sq ft letting to RICS, we are pleased to confirm a further letting at 55 Colmore Row.
“Having welcomed Gaucho to the building last year, with the restaurant proving a massive hit with the city’s diners, we believe Fazenda will be the perfect complement and will be a great addition to the city’s fantastic restaurant scene.”
Nick De Pons of specialist retail agents BWD advised TH Real Estate. City District was represented by Mathew Green of Mason Partners.
