Colliers International’s Industrial & Logistics team in Leeds has been appointed as joint agents with Knight Frank to market the 29-acre development site, Capitol Park in Goole, on behalf of Sterling Capitol.
Strategically located adjacent to Junction 36 of the M62 motorway, within the Enterprise Zone, Capitol Park is home to a number of blue chip companies, including: Guardian Industries, which occupies a 700,000 sq ft purpose built manufacturing unit on the park; Tesco Stores ltd, which has its 700,000 sq ft regional distribution facility on site; and Drax Power, which occupies a 33,000 sq ft biomass fuel processing unit.
The site extends to approximately 29 acres and benefits from outline planning consent for B1/B2 and B8 uses and can comfortably accommodate buildings of up to 550,000 sq ft on either a freehold or leasehold basis.
Robert Whatmuff, Director at Colliers International in Leeds, said: “Capitol Park is an established location that offers a range of built-to-suit opportunities for businesses across all market sectors within a park. We are delighted to have been appointed as joint agents on this gateway development and look forward to working with the wider project team to realise the development potential of Capitol Park.
“The recent announcement of Siemens choosing to invest circa £200 million in a rail manufacturing plant adjacent to the park, bringing circa 700 new jobs to Goole is fantastic news and we look forward to building on that success, hopefully through further development and jobs for their wider supply chain network.”
Sterling Capitol director Mike Heydecke commented: “We are excited to appoint the award-winning team of Colliers to join Knight Frank as marketing agents for Capitol Park Goole. They have a tremendous track record in industrial property in Yorkshire and have a comprehensive knowledge of the sector. We look forward to working with Rob Whatmuff, leader of the Colliers team in Yorkshire, and highlighting the exceptional potential of Capitol Park Goole. Together Colliers and Knight Frank will make a formidable partnership”
Iain McPhail, partner at Knight Frank’s Leeds office, added: “These are exciting times for Capitol Park Goole. The announcement that Siemens is to invest £200 million in Goole 36, next to Capitol Park, is a massive boost, while the park’s location, by Junction 36 of the M62, is superb, with swift access to the rest of Yorkshire’s excellent motorway network and the East Coast ports. We look forward to working with Colliers in securing occupiers for the park and unlocking its tremendous potential.”
