Barwood Capital, the Northampton-based real estate investment and development business, has appointed Hugh Elrington as a board director and head of property. Hugh will join in April 2018 from Rockspring Property Investment Managers LLP.
Hugh has 30 years’ experience having joined Rockspring as head of UK transactions in 2009 where he successfully built-up and led a strong transactional team at Rockspring to cover both acquisitions and sales on behalf of its discretionary and non-discretionary clients, averaging some £500 million of transactions each year.
Prior to that he established and was managing partner at Pensus Funds Management from 2006 to 2008 where he grew the business to eight people and was instrumental in securing €120 million of committed equity. From 2001 to 2006 he was senior director, EMEA investment at CB Richard Ellis, and from 1995 to 2001 UK investment director at St Quintin and Insignia Richard Ellis.
Hugh will work closely with Guy Brogden, executive chairman and Joanna Greenslade, managing director. Ed Henson, director, will continue to focus on investments and transactions, Andrew Barlow, director, will focus on asset management and marketing, and Steve Chambers, director, will maintain responsibility for residential development.
