Fast-growing software developer ESET has secured new UK headquarters in Bournemouth in a deal secured by property consultancy JLL.
The UK headquarters of ESET, the leading supplier of antivirus and malware protection software, has relocated to Holland House in Bournemouth’s primary business district on Oxford Road.
With over 110 million people protected by ESET worldwide and 1600 employees, ESET is the largest security software provider in Europe.
Michael May, ESET UK operations director, commented: “Bournemouth is a fantastic town for rapidly developing IT companies to be, with good communication links and a skilled local workforce.”
The company agreed a letting of 11,438 sq ft on the fifth floor of the office building, which recently underwent a major refurbishment, comprising new carpets, suspended ceilings and LED lighting. JLL and Cowling & West are joint agents on the site. CBRE acted for ESET.
Nella Pang, associate director at JLL in Southampton, who secured the deal, said: “It is fantastic to see a global technology company like ESET investing in the South Coast, meaning its UK headquarters will remain in Bournemouth.
“There continues to be an acute shortage of office space in Bournemouth, with take-up over the last few months having been high. The lack of office supply has largely been driven by permitted development rights, which allow the conversion of offices to residential use without the need for planning permission, with student and housing developments springing up in the place of offices.”
ESET has taken a sub-lease from Mapeley. The owner of Holland House is Fidelity.
There is currently just one floor remaining for let at Holland House. The ground floor, which encompasses 7,983 sq ft, can be split to meet occupiers’ requirements from 2,500 sq ft upwards. The space is available at a quoting rent of £12 per sq ft. Holland House is a quarter of a mile from Bournemouth railway station and has excellent access to the main road network.
