National multi-technical services provider SPIE UK has moved to larger premises in Derbyshire, following a deal overseen by Innes England.
New Grade A office space, situated on Badger Farm in Hilton, is now part tenanted by SPIE UK. The offices were constructed by John Bowler, previously of John Bowler Eggs.
SPIE’s new 4,500 sq ft office at Badger Farm will accommodate all of the company’s Derby-based staff, allowing SPIE to bring together its employees across one floor.
Bowler Adams LLP developed the land following the sale of John Bowler Eggs. Speaking of the process, managing director Stewart Adams said: “Letting Badger Farm has been a fantastic experience for us as this is a great commercial development and opportunity for SPIE.
“We have a wide portfolio of commercial properties, and SPIE’s new office is next door to an 8,000 sq ft property we rent to Bowler Eggs and Noble Green Energy, so the firm is in great company. The offices were originally built with John Bowler Eggs in mind – a company founded by John Bowler – so we went the extra mile with the specification.
“Once John sold John Bowler Eggs and the neighbouring Bowler Energy business, we were left with a state-of-the-art building but no business to house in it. We are so glad to have worked with Innes England to find a business of the right type, such as SPIE, to let the first floor of the property.
“As these offices are easily accessible from major motorways, modern and spacious we are hoping to find another large business to let the remaining 4,500 sq ft on offer. We have already had strong interest from another major PLC, but we are more than happy to work with prospective entrepreneurial tenants to ensure the space best meets any unique requirements, and as a family-owned local business we are eager to support similar businesses looking to expand here in Derbyshire.”
Mark Meddings, general manager at SPIE UK, said: “SPIE is looking forward to becoming an occupant of this quality contemporary office space, which reflects the high standards of our business”.
SPIE UK provides energy, safety and environmentally focused solutions across multi-technical and support services from initial design, through installation, testing and commissioning to long term maintenance and facilities management. The firm employs more than 3500 people from regional offices throughout the UK.
Chris Wright, associate director at Innes England added: “New Grade A office space is in short supply, so it’s been great working with the Bowler Adams LLP team to make the most of their unique property, especially attracting an international business such as SPIE to be the first tenants of the building. I am confident Badger Farm will continue to gain interest from other businesses looking for a modern Derbyshire base.”
Bowler Adams LLP is a family-run business which has a diverse portfolio of work in residential, commercial and agricultural land, alongside farming, an app business, renewable energy and finance.
