Leading commercial law firm Thrings has appointed commercial property expert Fionnuala Nolan as partner to advise the firm’s fast-growing portfolio of commercial real estate sector clients in London.
Coming to Thrings from City law firm Banks Kelly Solicitors, Fionnuala has built her reputation in the areas of retail, property development and property trading.
Fionnuala, who has more than 20 years’ experience advising businesses on the full spectrum of their property needs, joins Alison Jarvis’ London-based Commercial Property team to provide legal expertise to high-end luxury retailers, UK property developers, European and UK investors, trading companies, banks and industrial clients.
She has advised on several high profile and complex deals in the City, including the property aspects of PPP projects and carrying through acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant negotiations, put and call options, development agreements, auction acquisitions and conditional contracts.
Working with well known Italian luxury retail brands, Fionnuala has helped secure sites in key locations such as Bond Street, the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent and Manchester’s Trafford Centre and is currently advising a well known brand on their flagship HQ installation in London’s Mayfair.
The past year has also seen Fionnuala work on the financing of large scale property portfolios, contracts conditional upon planning, enforcement of hostile section 25 notices, access issues, rights granted and reserved and complex part transfers.
Fionnuala said: “Thrings’ Commercial Property team offers recognised expertise across a range of sectors including development, construction, retail and secured lending, all of which provide the support and protection necessary for developer and retail clients to succeed in an increasingly competitive commercial property market.
“I am delighted to be joining a dynamic and recognised team of lawyers who, as well as providing top tier legal advice, also place a keen emphasis on the importance of maintaining and growing client relationships.”
Managing partner at Thrings, Simon Holdsworth, said: “Welcoming Fionnuala to the team is a real coup for Thrings. She has a first-rate reputation and great experience in the high-end luxury retail sector, acting for leading Italian and German retail operators and their financial backers.
“Fionnuala has a proven track record in delivering complex and time-sensitive transactions involving multiple sources of funding and advising developer clients in the acquisition of complex development sites and trading transactions. We are therefore really pleased to have her join us as the newest member of our fast-growing Commercial Property team.”
The appointment marks Thrings’ continued growth in the London legal market, the next step being the strategic move of its London office in the Spring.
