Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Toby Ogden as Head of London Markets.
Since joining the firm’s graduate scheme in 2006, Toby, 34, has advised some of the world’s largest companies on their real estate strategies in London.
In the last three years, this includes securing new headquarters for: Apple (500,000 sq ft at Battersea Power Station); Facebook (250,000 sq ft move to One Rathbone Place, W1); and Dentsu Aegis Media (recent pre-let of 312,000 sq ft at Regent’s Place). All were record deals, with the latter the largest letting in the West End in more than 20 years.
Toby, promoted to International Partner in 2016, has combined this with leading the firm’s Transformation Team across EMEA, setting in train specific strategic projects to improve operational effectiveness, develop its digital offering, and enhance the level of insight drawn from data. Prior to focusing on London he spent six years advising businesses on their estates across EMEA and APAC, delivering advice in more than 25 countries.
He succeeds George Roberts, recently named as the firm’s new Head of UK & Ireland. Cushman & Wakefield’s London Markets division comprises occupier representation, leasing, capital markets, residential, development and healthcare teams – all operating across the capital as a whole, rather than the traditional City and West End model.
Toby Ogden, Head of London Markets, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “The opportunity to lead our fantastic London business is one I am really excited to be taking on. Our market-leading teams have some of the most experienced and insightful professionals in London.
“Our ability to act as a single London team is driving real value for our clients. However, their needs are changing, and the way we support them must respond. I’ll be drawing on the insight I’ve gained leading our Transformation Team to implement the next stage of this evolution to ensure we continue providing the differentiating advice our clients seek from us.”
George Roberts, Head of UK & Ireland, said: “Toby has thrived with added responsibility at every stage of his career. You don’t get to work with the clients he advises without a special talent for understanding business and people, backed up with genuine insight and an exceptional record of delivery.
“I know he will make the role his own and take our London business on to new heights. His appointment is testament to the strong succession planning we have at Cushman & Wakefield, which plays such a vital role in ongoing success.”
