Not to be outdone by the Olympics, CBRE has developed its own relay all in aid of charity. The CBRE Relay 2012 takes place between 1 and 22 May 2012 to raise money for Habitat for Humanity, an international Christian charity that aims to break the cycle of poverty by eliminating poverty housing and homelessness. In Bristol the team is also raising money for Children’s Hospice South West.
A total of 14 offices are taking part in the event that will see CBRE employees cover over 1,000 miles by various modes of transport including walking, running, cycling and sailing.
Last week a team of 12 intrepid cyclists, plus a three person support team, from the Bristol office of CBRE, completed the Bristol to Southampton leg of the journey with the CBRE baton. They headed off early on the morning of Thursday 17th May towards CBRE’s Southampton office – a journey of over 100 miles.
Phil Morton, Head of Agency and Development at CBRE, said: “CBRE is committed to giving back to the community and we are delighted to be supporting this great cause. The team trained hard for this event and we planned a detailed route. Thankfully there were no technical problems, such as punctures, so we reached CBRE’s Southampton office by early evening.”
