Following the purchase of the iconic Royal Liver Building by Corestate Capital earlier this year, CBRE’s Liverpool Building Consultancy team has appointed a project team to undertake master planning on the development of the City landmark. Award winning architects Corstorphine + Wright have been appointed as lead architects, supported by independent heritage buildings advisor Peter de Figueiredo and CBRE’s specialist planning team.
CBRE’s Building Consultancy team undertook a rigorous process to secure the appointments of the most talented consultants to assist it with plans to revitalise and breathe new life into the building. The team is set to explore opportunities to not only enhance the experience of those that work within the waterfront building, but for the millions of visitors to the site.
As an integral part of Liverpool’s business community, the team also plans to improve its offer to the City, working closely with CBRE’s Office Agency division.
Simon Hepple, Director, CBRE’s Building Consultancy commented:
“We are delighted to be appointed and to secure the services of the most relevant and experienced consultants to work closely with Liverpool City Council to assist Corestate to create a truly vibrant and revitalised destination in Liverpool. Corestate Capital is committed to investing in Liverpool and enhancing the offer of one of the UK’s most iconic buildings.”
Ed Baverstock, Architect Director at Corstorphine + Wright, said:
“It is an enormous privilege to be selected to consider the redevelopment opportunities of this iconic Liverpool landmark. Corstorphine + Wright has a wealth of experience in the respectful conservation and sensitive revival of historic buildings across the UK and we are honoured to play our part as custodians of this magnificent Grade I listed property.”
Independent heritage buildings’ specialist Peter de Figueiredo has also been appointed to support CBRE’s specialist Planning Consultants and advise on the historic significance of the Grade I Listed Building, whilst seeking to secure its continued contribution to the City.
CBRE is instructed across three key divisions, including Office Agency, Asset Services and Building Consultancy to drive forward the master plan for the Royal Liver Building.
