Poundstretcher has taken on a prime retail location in Bedworth as part of its UK-wide expansion, and is set to open its doors this weekend.
The discount retailer has taken out a 10 year-lease on 6 All Saints Square, where it will launch its newest Poundstore branch this Saturday (DEC 9).
The deal was negotiated by property consultancy Harris Lamb, which has been tasked with identifying sites to aid the chain’s growth plan. David Walton, Head of Retail, said that the team was particularly pleased with the latest store location.
“This is a first-class location and we couldn’t have chosen a better time to launch. This is a two-storey property offering just under 12,000 sq ft of sales and storage space, perfectly located on the corner of All Saints Square and Market Place at the heart of Bedworth Town Centre.
“With neighbouring occupiers including Boots, Thorntons, Greggs and high street banks, there are high levels of footfall in the square, not to mention excellent transport links courtesy of Bedworth Railway Station and central bus stops.
“Launching just two weekends before Christmas guarantees particularly high numbers of shoppers in the town, and we anticipate excellent visitor statistics on its opening weekend. We are delighted to have secured such a well-appointed site on Poundstretcher’s behalf within Warwickshire, and we will continue to identify suitable sites around the UK and negotiate terms on the chain’s behalf as the retailer continues its expansion,” he added.
The new store has secured a number of new jobs for the town.
The doors to Poundstore will open on Saturday December 9th. There will be entertainment and competitions prior to opening.
