M&G Real Estate, one of the UK’s leading property investors, has signed a letting agreement with global engineering professional services firm, WSP, to 2 London Square in Guildford. WSP will occupy 28,000 sq ft on a 10-year lease on the second, third, fourth and fifth floors.
2 London Square is an 118,000 sq ft office development comprising three headquarter office buildings located three-minute’s walk from London Road train station, which provides access to London Waterloo in under an hour.
Equidistant between London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, London Square is a particularly suitable opportunity for international companies and is home to other tenants such as HSBC and Russell Speechlys.
WSP has 7,150 staff based across the UK, and works on major construction and infrastructure projects such as the re-development of London Bridge Station, 22 Bishopsgate and Crossrail.
Aaron Pope, Director, Asset Management at M&G Real Estate commented: “We are pleased to have signed WSP at 2 London Square. The scheme holds considerable appeal to companies looking to capitalise on the excellent connectivity with London, the South East and international transport hubs.
“The signing of WSP also presents a further coup for Guildford and the wider Surrey economic region in addition to the high quality tenants already in situ at the offices.”
Matthew Wherry, Head of Corporate Real Estate at WSP, said: “We’re delighted to be moving to our new premises at London Square. The relocation from our existing offices in Woking and Godalming will allow us to create a brand new working environment for our employees within easy reach of the many amenities available in Guildford town centre.
“With our new office we’ll be able to remain close to our regional clients, whilst maintaining excellent train links to London, and enhance our ability to retain and recruit the best talent for our business.”
