CBRE has cemented its position as the world’s biggest real estate services firm by being named in the FORTUNE 500 for the fifth year consecutive year.
The firm, which is headquartered in Los Angeles and has an office in Birmingham, is the only commercial real estate services firm ever ranked alongside the USA’s biggest companies by revenue. The firm was placed 416 on the list, up 24 places from last year.
In 2011, CBRE advised on global sales and leasing transactions valued at $159billion and managed more than 3.2billion sq ft of properties across the planet.
CBRE has also picked up a global award for its corporate social responsibility work. The company’s achievements, including becoming the first carbon-neutral global real estate outsourcing firm, its increase in corporate and employee giving to charitable and community organisations and the expansion of its ethics programme, were recognised by an awards body comprising Information Services Group (ISG), the technology insights, market intelligence and advisory services company, and the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).
Martin Guest, managing director of CBRE in Birmingham, said: “As well as being a big business, we are a responsible one. Our success has been built on a foundation of insight, collaboration, global resource and excellent service. Corporate social responsibility is also now embedded in our culture, with many members of our Birmingham team taking part in fund-raising and community activities.”
