New business centre nearly fully sold

The initial phase of the first new-build business centre development for more than a decade on the giant 160-acre Solstice Park at Amesbury is now nearly fully sold.

Just one unit remains of the first phase of 12 being developed at The Bluestone Centre by Salisbury-based Nationwide Engineering Group.

This follows the sale of Unit 5 to Intelligent Solutions in Transport Ltd as an investment property in a deal brokered by property consultancy Myddelton & Major. The quoting price was £125,000.

The unit was immediately let to Hampshire-based interiors and original oak flooring company Charlecotes on a 10-year lease. The quoting rent was £8,750 per annum.

Intelligent Solutions in Transport Director Philip Ayles stated: “I have to thank Dean Speer of Myddelton & Major for pulling out all the stops in securing Unit 5 and for finding such an ideal tenant.

“Unit 5 is perfect for an operation such as Charlecotes and I would like to wish them every success in their new premises.”

Myddelton & Major Partner Dean Speer said: “This exciting new development of units suitable for office, light industrial and warehouse use is proving hugely successful.

“The high-specification centre was completed this year and many of the units – ranging from 1,485 sq ft to 2,270 sq ft and aimed especially at smaller businesses – were sold off-plan.

“This demonstrates both a growing confidence in the region’s commercial property market and an acute shortage of capacity in an area where demand outstrips supply.

“Bluestone is the first new business centre development at the strategically-located Solstice Park since the Beacon Centre in 2005 and is significant for employment prospects in Wiltshire with 131,630 people of employment age living within a 30 minute drive.”

Solstice Park, Amesbury, just nine miles north of Salisbury, has good links to the motorway network via the A303/M3 to London and to the north via the A34 to the M4 and M40.

The Bluestone Centre – named after ancient stones at nearby Stonehenge – is on Sun Rise Way, which forms part of the 160-acre mixed use park.
