Mitsui Fudosan UK (‘Mitsui Fudosan’) and development partner Stanhope plc have completed a further 30,000 sq ft of lettings at Angel Court, attracting all four new tenants from premises outside of the City and cementing the scheme’s reputation as a highly sought after office destination within the central London occupier market.
The latest round of lettings sees Petrobras Europe Limited (‘PEL’), Delphi Technologies, a large multinational oil company, and a leading travel services firm relocate their headquarters to Angel Court. Both PEL and the multinational oil company are moving from existing premises in the West End – further underlining Angel Court’s ability to attract occupiers from traditionally desirable London submarkets. Having only completed in March of this year, the 300,000 sq ft prime office building is already over 60 per cent let and is home to a varied tenant line-up covering sectors including financial services, healthcare, consultancy and transport.
Petrobras Europe Limited, the U.K. subsidiary of Petrobras – Petroleo Brasileiro S.A, will occupy 4,300 sq ft on the 9th floor at Angel Court. Petrobras is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is the largest listed integrated energy company in South America.
Delphi Technologies, a technology company working across the automotive and transport sectors, will occupy 9,000 sq ft on the 10th floor on a 10-year term. With headquarters currently in Gillingham, Angel Court will be the firm’s first London office, forming the next step in the firm’s expansion.
Further diversifying the occupier mix at Angel Court, a leading travel services firm and a large independent oil company have both agreed deals on 10-year terms to occupy 8,750 sq ft of the 12th and 20th floors respectively.
Mitsui Fudosan and Stanhope have also confirmed the recent launch of a Wi-Fi enabled communal business lounge and 7,000 sq ft garden terrace on the seventh floor, which will be available for all occupiers to use. The lounge houses a café serving food and drinks during normal working hours, as well as providing modern communal workspace and access to the large south-facing garden on the seventh floor.
The remaining office floorplates range between 4,000 sq ft and 25,000 sq ft and offer an unrivalled location next to the Bank of England.
The latest round of lettings at Angel Court follows multiple deals already completed throughout the spring and summer of this year. Bupa and a new financial services trade association both relocated their headquarters to Angel Court, whilst further deals were also completed with Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, WYG, Analysis Group, The Clubhouse, and Redington.
Commenting on the latest round of deals, Eiichiro Onozawa, Managing Director of Mitsui Fudosan (UK) Ltd, said:
“Since completing in March of this year, Angel Court has attracted a variety of major tenants from across London and beyond, underlining the scheme’s significant appeal within the occupier market. The fact that the building is now over 60 per cent let to such a range of occupiers is a clear testament to Angel Court’s attractive design, superb location and unique leisure offer. We look forward to welcoming all the new tenants to Angel Court soon.”
David Camp, Chief Executive of Stanhope plc, added:
“We are delighted with the work that we have achieved at Angel Court with Mitsui Fudosan UK in driving continued momentum in the lettings market, attracting major tenants from multiple sectors to the building in such a short space of time. The recent launch of our attractive seventh floor communal space will no doubt prove to be yet another exciting draw for prospective tenants, and we are confident that the scheme will continue to be a highly sought after space in 2018 and beyond.”
A hugely significant building for the City occupier market, Angel Court is one of only two towers to complete in the Square Mile this year. Boasting uninterrupted 360-degree views of the City skyline, the scheme provides high quality office space in the heart of the City of London. Angel Court was designed by Fletcher Priest Architects, with Waterman Group appointed as multidiscipline engineering consultants.
GMRE, JLL and Cushman & Wakefield acted for Mitsui Fudosan UK and Stanhope. Ashwell Rogers represented the oil company, Knight Frank for Delphi, Colliers for the travel services firm and Expedite acted for Petrobras Europe Limited.
