Continuing its extensive work within the residential and student residential sector, GVA has provided multi-disciplinary property services to high-end student accommodation provider, Student Cribs.
GVA’s Manchester office has been acting on behalf of Student Cribs, a leading provider of student accommodation, for the last 12 months to deliver project management services for the refurbishment of 13 properties throughout the North West, including for leading Russell Group university cities Manchester and Liverpool.
The instruction by Student Cribs is part of a larger project, which has seen GVA work them on 18 properties across seven UK cities, adding a further 220 bedrooms across its portfolio.
Student Cribs is a fast-growing provider of high-end student housing and has established a portfolio of more than 180 properties in 15 towns and cities across the UK.
Each property offers students super-fast broadband, American-style fridge-freezers as part of a high-quality kitchen specification, TVs in every bedroom as well as quality fixtures and fittings throughout.
Alongside project management services, GVA carried out pre-acquisition surveys, cost consultancy services, mechanical and electrical engineering design services and planning advice.
Oliver Shore of GVA’s building consultancy team said: “We are increasingly seeing a rising growth and demand in the student residential market.
“With institutional fees increasing in recent years, the demand for high quality student accommodation has risen significantly.
“As a result, we have been able to utilise our extensive experience in this sector and across a wide range of disciplines, to work collaboratively with Student Cribs in order to deliver first class facilities for the students occupying these homes.”
Tom Ferber, Development Director of Student Cribs, said: “GVA successfully managed various projects ensuring they were delivered in programme ready for the next academic year.
“I have been impressed with GVA’s proactive approach and the standard of service has been excellent throughout. GVA understood our requirements from the outset and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
