A Peterborough-based company specialising in the supply, installation and servicing of products for vehicle adaptations which enable drivers to maintain independent living is the latest business to move to premises on a brand new industrial estate in the city.
Chris Elliott Adaptations Ltd – which trades as CEA Mobility – has moved to Newark East on Cobblestone Way, Fengate to occupy 353 sq m (3,800 sq ft) across Units 11 and 12, confirms property agency, Barker Storey Matthews who is the sole agent under instruction.
CEA Mobility had been based at the Lyme Grove Industrial Estate, close to HMP Peterborough, for nearly a decade. Improved prospects for the growth of the business and the desire to recruit to add to a current headcount of six, saw the company looking to move to modern premises.
Phil Young, CEA Mobility’s Financial Director, commented, “Changes to the company structure and business plan prompted the need for the search for new, modern premises.
“We were determined to keep within the Peterborough area where CEA has been trading successfully for a number of years.
“Newark East fitted the bill on many levels. As a brand new development, our new premises couldn’t be more modern and yet we are still operating from an established industrial commercial area in the business’s home city.”
Units at Newark East only became available to occupy in the summer (2017). There are twelve out of 14 units at Newark East let or under offer currently, and as the first speculative industrial property development in the Eastern Industry area of Peterborough in the past decade, Barker Storey Matthews expects the scheme to be fully let by the end of January (2018).
