Birmingham Business Park has boosted its amenity offer with the addition of a dry-cleaning service.
Shirtcraft has taken a retail unit, which includes a shop front and rear processing area, at the Park’s Waterside Centre, for a five-year term.
The new tenant joins Wiggles & Giggles day nursery, which opened in July, the
Pane E Caffe café – recently extended to 60 covers – and newsagents WHSmith at the heart of the 148-acre Park. A new outdoor gym and table tennis table have also been installed.
Shirtcraft is the brainchild of Ana Curcija and Rob Powell, who run the Ideal chain of dry cleaners in Dorridge, Knowle and Solihull. They created the new brand specifically for Birmingham Business Park, where they are pioneering the use of water-based biodegradable products instead of environmentally unfriendly solvents. In addition, Shirtcraft offers workwear hire and laundry services.
Rob Powell said: “At our Ideal outlets we get business people coming to drop off their dry cleaning on Saturdays. It’s evidently a chore for them so the opportunity to make life that bit more convenient for the 7,000 staff on site as well as visitors to Birmingham Business Park was too good to miss.”
Rob Large, director of asset manager Canmoor, who manage the Park, said: “Birmingham Business Park undoubtedly has the best amenity offer of any of the region’s office parks.
“In addition to the facilities offered at the Waterside Centre we have our own on-site park manager who co-ordinates a wide range of events, from Foodie Fridays, fitness classes and yoga to cycling groups designed to engage tenants and encourage wellbeing. Our al fresco gym has proved tremendously popular since we installed it this summer.”
Birmingham Business Park is home to more than 120 companies, including Rolls Royce, IMI, Fujitsu, Goodyear, Beiersdorf and Changan Automotive.
Office accommodation, from 1,500 sq ft – 25,000 sq ft, is available at the Park. Joint agents acting for owners BlackRock and Canmoor are JLL, GVA and KWB.
