A local business which is set to manufacture modular houses and apartments is moving in to premises at Gateway Park, Orton Southgate, Peterborough from where it plans to create up to 120 new jobs in the next 12 to 18 months.
Lesko Modular Group Ltd is looking for multi-skilled candidates to start very soon now that it has taken a ten year lease on two warehouses totalling 9,229 sq m (99,337 sq ft), confirms property agency Barker Storey Matthews who acted on behalf of the landlord.
Set in a secured site of circa 2.5 hectares (6.2 acres), the two warehouses, Units A & B at Gateway Park, will give Lesko Modular Group Ltd a headquarters and a production facility in one location.
Orton Southgate is one of Peterborough’s prime business, industrial and warehouse locations given its proximity to the A1(M) interchange and access to the city’s parkway network. Gateway Park contributes to around 3.25 million sq ft of commercial accommodation within this area of the city.
In securing new premises to let in Orton Southgate, Lesko Modular Group Ltd joins occupiers who include Virgin Media, online clothing retailer Yours, WH Smith, Coloplast and local real estate developer, Barnack Estates Ltd.
Richard Jones, Director, Barker Storey Matthews Peterborough, believes the modular homes manufacturer brings a welcome addition to the industrial profile of Peterborough.
He explains, “That Lesko Modular Group Ltd is planning to grow from a new base in the city is particularly good news following the announcement a few weeks ago of the closure of Redring Xpelair Group’s operation in Orton Southgate.
“Paul Pleszko and his son James – who are behind the modular homes business venture – are well respected among the region’s business and entrepreneurial communities.
“With the pressure on to provide housing, there’s a renewed focus on the need for modular units to help plug the gap.
“It’s a vote of confidence in Peterborough and the skills of the city’s workforce, that Lesko Modular Group Ltd has chosen premises here in which to set up and grow the new business.”
