Colliers International’s Monique Royle is the only Midlands RICS member to be nominated to run for a seat aboard the RICS Governing Council.
The RICS Governing Council is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for the chartered surveying profession. Voting for the 17 available seats on the RICS Governing Council has now opened and Monique is one of just 32 candidates running nationally.
As the only representative from the West Midlands, Monique is canvassing for support from fellow RICS members. Monique Royle is a Director in Colliers International’s Licensed and Leisure team and specialises in the valuation of most leisure properties including pubs, function venues and coaching inns for secured lending purposes, accounts, SIPPS, etc. Outside of her role at Colliers International, Monique is chair of the RICS West Midlands Regional Board and a Trustee of DanceXchange, a Midlands-based dance organisation and charity.
Monique said: “I get such enjoyment from my job as a valuer and place great importance on integrity in the profession, so naturally I would take pride in representing the membership at the very highest level and contributing to the vision and strategy of the Institution that governs the chartered surveying profession. As a valuer, risk is always at the forefront of my mind, I need to be commercial in my decisions and balance risk with reward. I believe this mindset would be invaluable to the RICS and by joining the Governing Council, I will be able to assist in ensuring that we are in good shape for the challenges we face in this increasingly globalised and fast evolving marketplace.
Head of Colliers International’s Midlands office, James Cubitt, added: “It is fantastic to see Monique standing for a seat on the RICS Governing Council. To have a property professional from the Midlands on the Governing Board is imperative and I am confident that Monique, with her excellent experience as a valuer and solid business acumen is the ideal person for the job. I would like to urge all Midlands RICS members to vote for Monique to ensure that the Midlands property community is appropriately represented on a national and international stage.”
