Shopping centre owner intu has signed up Flip Out as the third leisure attraction at intu Lakeside’s 175,000 sq ft leisure extension.
The world’s fastest-growing trampoline park operator will launch a 30,000 sq ft attraction next year alongside Nickelodeon’s first UK shopping centre attraction and one of Hollywood Bowl’s biggest venues.
Another leisure brand and 11 restaurants will also open at the end of 2018 at the multi-million pound extension, with TGI Fridays and Zizzi taking 5,800 sq ft and 3,400 sq ft respectively after agreeing terms with intu this autumn. A 74-bedroom Travelodge hotel which officially opened this month is located close to intu Lakeside’s new leisure space.
Rebecca Ryman, regional managing director of intu, said: “This is an exciting time for intu as we continue to develop a large portfolio of great leisure destinations across the UK.
“Flip Out is one of a number of exciting brands that will provide new and compelling experiences for the growing number of people who will visit intu Lakeside from further and for longer following the launch of the centre’s leisure space. We want to put a smile on our customers’ faces while creating a buzz for our retailers and this is exactly what the new development will deliver.”
Flip Out’s new trampolining space will feature a range of activities including stunt box zones, ball games, resident DJs and calendar of special events.
Jon Inwards, managing director of Flip Out, said: “We’re really looking forward to launching our trampoline arena at intu Lakeside’s amazing new leisure development.
“intu provide extraordinary experiences for its customers and the creation of a destination that offers a fantastic place to shop, eat and play is something that will help us to achieve our aim of delivering massive amounts of healthy, awesome fun for all”.
