A business coach and banker joined forces to create a tournament-winning double act in a hard-fought tennis competition.
Kevin Stansfield from ActionCoach and NatWest commercial manager Gary Hodgson saw off match rivals in the annual Solent Property Professionals Tennis Tournament.
Twenty business professionals took part in the event, which was sponsored by Hughes Ellard, the independent commercial property consultancy, leading accountancy firm Wilkins Kennedy, law firm Paris Smith and Southampton Property Association (SPA).
A raffle raised £115 for Smile 4 Wessex, which provides charitable support for the Wessex Neurological Centre in Southampton.
The tournament, held at Lee-on-the-Solent tennis club, near Gosport, involved doubles vying for league table points before the top two battled it out.
Participants represented a range of property-related businesses, including commercial property agencies, lawyers, accountants, developers and investors.
Russell Mogridge, a director at Hughes Ellard, which covers the Solent region, said: “It is the second year on the bounce that ActionCoach’s Kevin has been on the winning side.
“In warm sunshine, Kevin and Gary took the honours in a tough contest against Hughes Ellard’s Tim Clark and Paris Smith’s Sean Hogan of law firm Paris Smith, bringing to an end Tim’s unbroken winning streak of 15 years!
“This year’s comedy shot award went to real estate solicitor Katrina Spolander of Shoosmiths, who took away the wooden racket and a tennis lesson with resident club coach Matt Rogers!”
Lee Beaumont, a partner at Wilkins Kennedy, said: “We were pleased to sponsor the tournament for another year. There’s always great fun to be had and for an extremely worthy cause.”
Southampton Property Association sponsored the Moet Champagne prizes.
