National property and construction consultancy Wakemans has completed work on phase two of the Walsall Waterfront development, which will introduce four new restaurants to the multi-million pound mixed leisure complex.
Acting as project manager, employer’s agent, quantity surveyor and principal designer on behalf of developer Kier Property, Wakemans confirms that the shell buildings have been handed over and are being fitted out by the new tenants.
Cream’s and Subway will be among the new restaurants to occupy the site and they are expected to open in October.
Wakemans Director Seinde Balogun said: “Kier Property has successfully regenerated a 17-acre site that enhances Walsall town centre by providing a host of quality leisure facilities, which will not only benefit the local community but will also help to attract visitors and promote inward business investment.”
With a contract value of £1.5million, phase two of the Walsall Waterfront development comprises four units – one block of three units comprising 571.2 sq. m. of space and a further separate unit of 325.2 sq. m.
Wakemans also took a lead role in the phase one of the redevelopment project, a £6.5million mixed leisure scheme that has provided a multi-screen cinema, retail units, restaurants and bars.
