Developer Cubex Land has clinched a series of deals at its Bath Business Park scheme, underlining an upturn in occupier confidence during the first quarter of 2012. The sales mean that all office and industrial buildings at the park, located to the south west of the city at Peasedown St John, have now been let or sold.
Acting for the developer, DTZ (part of UGL Services) and joint agents Burston Cook have sold the last available industrial unit to south-west based menswear retailer, John Anthony Clothing. Unit 12 within the Industrial Quarter comprises 4,962 sq ft of warehouse space and sold for £290,000. The unit will be used to accommodate the company’s new head office and its online shopping department. Hartnell Taylor Cook acted for the buyer.
Elsewhere, within Bath Business Parks’ Office Village, the last remaining property No.4 has also been also recently been sold to a local company.
Meanwhile, a one acre plot of serviced land has been sold to the Bath Fertility Clinic for development of their new 6,300 sq ft facility. With planning permission already secured, construction work began in earnest last month. The clinic will relocate from the Royal United Hospital campus at the end of the year with the development expected to employ 20 staff.
Having disposed of all its office and industrial buildings, developer Cubex is now offering for sale the final two plots of developable land. The fully serviced plots amount to 1.63 and 1.43 acres respectively and are available on a freehold basis.
Cubex director Josh Roberts said “For any commercial occupier, acquiring property is a major commitment. These latest transactions not only underline improving confidence but also signal the growing maturity of Bath Business Park, now home to a diverse range of local, regional and international occupiers. The incoming businesses will join the likes of Audi, Mercedes, the CircleBath hospital and a host of local businesses.”
