JLL’s Steve Lane is taking the reins to lead the company’s work in Bath as John Mulholland retires after 31 years at the property consultancy.
Steve joined JLL in 2011 working in the office agency team, advising both landlords and occupiers on their commercial property requirements. Steve’s new focus will be to build on JLL’s established presence in Bath.
He will continue to work from JLL’s Bristol office as part of the team acting for a range of clients in the Bath market.
Steve, who is an associate director, said: “It’s an exciting time to be taking on this role as Bath’s appeal continues unabated. Its popularity as a place to live and work looks set to continue as it’s a pivotal part of the regional economy.
“The electrification of the rail line and developments such as Apex City of Bath Hotel will undoubtedly draw more businesses to Bath, and we continue to see a high level of interest from hotel developers and operators who want to expand the city’s leisure offer.”
JLL has a long history of working in the city and John has helped build an impressive portfolio of clients in Bath, including Standard Life, and Aberdeen Asset Management. JLL is also advising Bath and North East Somerset Council on the Quays South site.
Recent office agency instructions include the marketing of two office buildings, Sterling House and Beauford House, owned by St John’s Foundation.
Simon Peacock, lead director at JLL across the South West, said: “Thanks in no small part to John’s excellent work and reputation in the city, we have built up a strong presence over many years in Bath. We are hugely grateful to John for his many years of service to JLL.
“Steve brings a wealth of experience and he is well placed to take up this post. We remain committed to providing expert insight and advice to clients in Bath and its surroundings.”
