In celebration of a successful first 18 months in business, Nottingham-based architectural practice Lungfish held an event in the city centre to thank its clients, employees and suppliers for their hard work and contribution to the firm’s pivotal first year of trading.
Alison Pressley, project architect at Lungfish said: “In just the last year our team has almost doubled, we’ve relocated, we’ve expanded our areas of expertise with the recruitment of specialist architects and technical staff and are making a name for ourselves in Nottingham and beyond.
“This event provides us with a chance to take stock of our successes, and acknowledge all the hard work we’ve put into the last year and a half.”
A subsidiary of Scape Group, one of the UK’s leading procurement specialists, Lungfish Architects Ltd launched in 2016. As part of the group, the practice takes on public sector projects procured through Scape Procure’s national and regional frameworks, in addition to working with private sector clients across the UK.

Richard Murray, technical lead for Lungfish said: “There has been a real growth in confidence within the team over the last 18 months and we’re at an important point of our development as a business where were starting to hone in on our signature style.
“Our young, yet experienced, team means we can be brave in our proposals to clients and over the next 18 months we look forward to moving into different sectors.”

Lungfish is also the sole design partner for Sunesis – a joint venture between Scape Group and major construction contractor Willmott Dixon – which specialises in off-site pre-designed builds for the education sector.
Tracy Zbilut, Project Manager, for Warwickshire County Council, attended the celebratory event. She said: “I’ve found Lungfish to be forward thinking, energetic and I’ve been delighted with their work to deliver new educational facilities here in Warwickshire.
“The team are committed, meet deadlines and understand our increasing pressures such as reduced budgets, time restrictions and compliance needs.”
A Lungfish recent recruit, project architect, Lizzy Bennett said: “It may sound like a cliché, but there is a real family feel to working at Lungfish.
“Everyone is flexible in their approach and takes the time to listen to clients, understand their needs and then deliver projects with best practice in mind.
