Former local government offices in Stratford-upon-Avon, marketed by SDL Bigwood, have been taken on a long let by serviced office company Exeid Stratford-upon-Avon run by local businessman Simon Harrison.
The ground floor suite within Elizabeth House, home to Stratford-upon-Avon District Council, was previously used by Warwickshire County Council staff.
Simon said: “I have lived in Stratford all my life and know the area well. Stratford has been crying out for a facility like this.
“It was perfect timing for us that Elizabeth House came on the market; being the right size with facilities for over 100 people and in the town centre.
“The council has been very supportive and we look forward to a long standing relationship.”
The premises, on Church Street, extend to 9,206 sq ft – the terms of the deal are undisclosed.
A launch is planned for later this year, but phase one fit-out is under way with suites available for occupancy in October.
Exeid has had plenty of inquiries and already a significant number of offices have been taken across a range of industries including accountancy, graphic design and recruitment; from single person accommodation to small and medium sized businesses.
Exeid Stratford-upon-Avon is affiliated to the Exeid Group. Exeid is a commercial property consultancy specialising in the serviced office market, dealing with large, global businesses as well as small and medium enterprises.
A nationwide company, Exeid has over 400 clients in office throughout Leicester, Watford, Bristol, Norwich, Birmingham, London, and primarily Nottingham which is where the company made its base.
Simon added: “We are confident this is going to be highly successful and an important addition to the Stratford-upon-Avon business landscape. Elizabeth House is a landmark building and this was an opportunity not to be missed.”
James Carver, of SDL Bigwood’s Commercial Agency department, said: “Being in the centre, on the edge of the main retail area, and recently refurbished, Elizabeth House was a very desirable proposition.
“Exeid is a respected name and Simon knows the local market well.
The deal came together quite quickly once Exeid Stratford-upon-Avon expressed interest.”
Warwickshire County Council employees, providing children’s services and adult care, moved into Elizabeth House in 2012, vacating six properties elsewhere in a bid to save on costs.
