PATRIZIA UK, manager of Winnersh Triangle, has secured the letting of its entire speculative development at 1030 Eskdale Road to global medical technology company BD.
PATRIZIA welcomed BD to Winnersh Triangle in May this year, as the latest international name to join its thriving business park community. The deal was hailed ‘Property Deal of the Year’ at the Thames Valley Property Awards 2017.
Just three months after BD moved to Winnersh Triangle, the business expanded to lease the entire 60,000 sq ft Grade A building. BD’s relocation to Winnersh Triangle was part of its strategic plan to relocate, consolidate and develop its UK sites. Building 1030 now houses the high-growth organisation’s commercial operations in the UK, as well as support functions, technical services and an Innovation Centre to host customers.
Commenting on the recent expansion, Mike Fairbourn, BD UK General Manager, said: “We are delighted to expand our presence at Winnersh Triangle – the business park has given us the ideal base to support our future growth strategy. We have brought together our UK teams under one roof, enabling greater collaboration and focus on our customers. The location of our new offices near Reading, within the M4 / Thames Valley corridor and so close to London, gives us great opportunities to attract new talent to BD alongside our existing people. It’s exciting to be part of a flourishing community of other big global names and smaller, newer players in the science and technology fields.”
PATRIZIA UK’s Rupert Batho, Director, Asset Management, added: “BD’s commitment to Winnersh Triangle pays testimony to our quality and flexibility of accommodation combined with superb onsite amenities and access to fast road, rail and air connections.”
Strutt and Parker and Vail Williams represented PATRIZIA, JLL acted for BD. Strutt and Parker, Vail Williams and JLL are under joint instruction on the Winnersh Triangle estate.
Winnersh Triangle provides office, technology, data centre, R&D and amenity space totaling 1.5 million square feet.
Easily accessible by road just off junction 10 of the M4, Winnersh Triangle also benefits from its own train station within walking distance. On-site amenities include a four-star hotel with restaurant, café, conference facilities and a range of leisure facilities, plus a retail store, and nursery.
Winnersh Triangle was acquired in July 2013 with funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management LP and real estate investor PATRIZIA UK Ltd.
