Rosemary Bridger from Titchfield is the latest addition to the busy team at Fareham based Amiri Construction following her role with a rival company as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Rosemary has had an interest in the construction industry from a teenager as her mother was an Estimator’s Assistant and would encourage Rosemary to help during summer holidays before attending Southampton Uni before working in London as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for 2 years for a housing developer.
Mark Vincent, Director at Amiri, said that the appointment of good Quantity Surveyors is vital to the success of any construction company: “We now have 5 QSs within the company as well as a Trainee QS. These people are vital as they keep construction projects within budget. This is very important given the low profit margins that proliferate across the industry.”
Growth in sectors including education, commercial, leisure and industrial developments, and some key residential contracts, has seen project values for Amiri range between £180k and £10m across Southern England. Turnover for the current financial year is on target for £30m. The company has now launched Amiri Interiors to provide refurbishment and fit out projects to new and existing clients.
