Leading strategic land promoter Richborough Estates has made a duo of senior appointments and promotions as the company continues to go from strength-to-strength.
Martyn Grimes and Nick Banks have joined the Birmingham-headquartered business as it looks to consolidate its regional focus, and has reorganised its team into Western and Eastern Divisions to better service its growing number of projects.
Martyn has joined the business from Bovis Homes, where he was a Land Director, and will lead the newly formed Midlands region and its pipeline of live projects. Nick Banks will focus on the South Eastern region and brings significant planning and acquisitions experience to the role, having worked for Ptarmigan Group and Barkway Land.
These most recent appointments follow a regular flow of key hires for the firm, which has grown from just three employees in 2003 to 15 and now boasts up to 80 live projects at any one time across the UK.
Karl Parkinson-Witte, co-managing director for Richborough Estates, said: “As the housing shortage continues to dominate the political agenda, our role is evolving. Whilst we are land promoters first and foremost, we are increasingly advising and leading debate, ensuring that Government and Local Authorities address the growing need for the right housing in the right places.
“This has already been yet another big year for Richborough Estates, with high-profile appeals and planning successes, and over the last 12 months we have invested in bringing a senior team on board who can drive the business forward across the regions. We have also taken care to recruit new skills and expertise to the business, with planning and design support being paramount.”
Richborough Estates is engaged in projects across the UK and as part of the strategic restructuring of its geographic areas, existing team members Jon Bloor and James Bradshaw have been promoted to Divisional Directors for the Western and Eastern Divisions respectively and have overall responsibility for approximately 40 projects each.
Karl continued: “With our new divisional structure in place, we are in an excellent position to continue to offer first-class service our active portfolio live projects and look forward to consolidating our position in the sector.”
Richborough Estates has come a long way since its inception in 2003 and land promoters are increasingly viewed as an important source of land supply for the housebuilding industry – particularly at a time when local authorities are reviewing their local plans to help deliver a five year land supply for new homes in line with government policy.
Richborough Estates’ USP is in its focus to work with local communities to ensure that development meets the needs of the local area whilst representing the interests of the landowner, in this way increasing the supply of much needed housing throughout England.
