Work on site has commenced for a new build, 55,000 sq ft, industrial development in Aldridge, Walsall, that will see completion of the unit for occupation in April 2018.
Trebor Developments, in conjunction with Kay Properties, are developing the scheme and have appointed A&H Construction Limited as their building contractor.
The project benefits from grant support from the Black Country Growth Deal and sees an unused, brownfield site, brought forward to create new employment in the area.
Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner, of Trebor commented, “We are always pleased to see projects start on site following a great deal of effort from our team. This new, quality, industrial accommodation is suitable for B2 manufacturing or B8 logistics/distribution uses and we expect strong interest from occupiers, given the lack of such sized accommodation across the Midlands”.
Stewart Towe, Chair Black Country LEP said: “It is fantastic to see another great project start on site in the Black Country which will see brownfield land developed to support our world-class manufacturing sector and of course will create new employment in the area. We are delighted to be working closely with partners to transform former industrial land in the Black Country and in doing so transform the Black Country economy.”
Councillor Lee Jeavons, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder Regeneration Walsall Council praised the partners saying “This new development will create another much needed high quality industrial unit in Walsall, supporting business to grow and local people access to employment. I am pleased to see the Black Country’s Growth Deal funds being deployed on important economic, job creating opportunities.
