M&G Real Estate has secured a new deal with one of the world’s largest sporting goods retailers, Decathlon, which is set to open a new store on North Street in Guildford.
As part of the brand’s ongoing expansion in the UK, Decathlon is moving into a four-storey unit on the corner of North Street and Leapale Road in the centre of the town. Decathlon will take 18,874 sq ft across the basement, ground, first and second floors of the buildingon a 15-year lease.
Scott Linard, Director of Asset Management & Leasing for M&G Real Estate, commented: “The latest letting to Decathlon demonstrates Guildford’s strength and appeal to both national and international brands. By combining 13 North Street with the large former snooker hall on the second floor of the building, we have created a new, modern unit of international retailing standards. We are delighted to welcome Decathlon to North Street to Guildford’s existing line-up of international retail brands, which make the area one of the most desirable retail hubs in the South East outside of London.”
The news follows the latest run of new lettings at M&G Real Estate’s The Friary shopping centre nearby. New deals with Soletrader, Lovisa, Eurochange and Beaverbrooks bring the centre to almost full capacity.
